Irish music icon Sharon Corr says she can’t wait to return to South Africa as The Corrs bring their Talk on Corners Tour to the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on 22 November.

Speaking to Bunny Majaja for HOT 1027 Breakfast, Corr reflected on her deep connection to the country — from performing at Nelson Mandela’s 85th birthday to sharing the stage with legends like Brian May, Roger Taylor, Beyoncé, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo at the 46664 concert.

“I’ll never forget those moments,” she said. “Mandela dancing to our music was just incredible. Those memories will stay with me forever.”

Corr says fans can expect a full celebration of the band’s greatest hits — along with a few surprises. “We don’t believe in leaving out the songs people love,” she explained. “You’ll get all the hits, and some beautiful Irish pieces with new twists. It’s a full emotional journey.”

Asked what makes The Corrs’ live shows special, she smiled: “We’re the real deal. You’re not hearing playback or autotune. It’s all live, organic, and joyful — that beautiful spark between the band and the audience.”

The siblings’ long-standing harmony, both musical and personal, remains the secret to their success. “We’ve had our fights,” Sharon laughed, “but we always come back to respect. Together, there’s a magic — and that’s our purpose.”

Corr hopes fans will escape the world’s noise, come together, and find joy in live music again. “Get out, stop worrying, and just be in the moment,” she said. “It’s pure joy — and we can’t wait to share it with South Africa.”
