Hot Cares, in partnership with the Guvon Academy, is thrilled to announce the opening of entries for the Guvon Bursary 2025 – a life-changing opportunity for one aspiring chef to earn a fully funded three-year qualification as a professional chef.

This prestigious bursary, valued at R360,000, includes tuition, textbooks, a full chef’s kit, and internationally recognised awards – all part of the Occupational Certificate: Chef (SAQA ID 101697) at the Guvon Academy in Johannesburg. Classes begin 15 July 2025.

Guvon Academy is part of the Guvon Hotels & Spas Group and is internationally accredited. Its commitment to practical, work-based training means students gain real-world experience in leading hospitality environments – setting them up for success from day one.

This year’s announcement follows the inspiring journey of Evan Pienaar, winner of the 2024 bursary, whose life has already been transformed through his studies and on-the-job training.

Entries are open from 9 June to 20 June 2025 so if you’re passionate about the culinary arts and ready to commit to this exciting path, here’s what you need to apply:
