HOT 102.7FM makes Financial Times’ list of Africa’s fastest growing companies

Hot 102.7FM has been officially recognised as one of >Africa’s fastest growing companies, with the Financial Times and Statista ranking the Johannesburg-based broadcaster 22nd overall across all sectors and 2nd in media and telecommunications on the continent.

Harry Ewins, Key Account Manager at Statista Germany, said the growth of HOT 102.7FM was described as “exceptional”, especially for a station that only turns four years old this July.

“We rarely see this kind of trajectory in such a short time,” Ewins noted. “It shows investors, partners, and the public that HOT 102.7 is a standout success story.”

First time a station being seen as fastest growing companies

This isn’t the first time the station has caught Statista’s attention. Earlier this year, HOT 102.7FM also featured prominently in the News24 and Statista rankings, making waves in the South African media landscape.

While Ewins remained diplomatically neutral on whether this cements HOT 102.7FM as a business leader on the continent, he emphasised that repeated appearances in major rankings signal a brand with staying power and serious momentum.
