A clean sweep for HOT 102.7FM — Voted Best in Joburg, Ekurhuleni and Pretoria

Radio that feels good clearly keeps winning hearts. Johannesburg’s very own HOT 102.7FM has done it again — sweeping the 2025 Best of Joburg, Best of Ekurhuleni, and Best of Pretoria Readers’ Choice Awards to cement its reputation as Gauteng’s favourite radio station.

For the fourth consecutive year, HOT 102.7FM has been voted Best Radio Station in Joburg, while also clinching Best Radio Station in Ekurhuleni for the second year running. The recent Best of Pretoria win makes it a clean sweep across all three regions, a feat few stations in the country can claim.

“It’s an incredible honour and a reflection of the love people have for what we do,” said Lloyd Madurai, Managing Director of HOT 102.7FM. “We set out to be number one in the hearts of our listeners — connecting with them and doing radio that feels good, every single day.”

Under Madurai’s leadership, HOT 102.7FM has become a shining example of how independent radio can compete with — and outshine — the corporate giants. The station’s mix of world-class programming and heartfelt community outreach continues to resonate deeply with listeners.

Its signature Hot Cares initiative recently raised over R31.5 million in just 12 hours during the 2025 Teddython, with donations flowing in from across South Africa and even as far as Sweden.

Adding to the celebration, the HOT 102.7 Breakfast team — Simon Parkinson, Bunny Majaja, and Simon Hill — took home Best Breakfast Show honours in both Joburg and Ekurhuleni. Their infectious energy, humour, and genuine warmth have made mornings brighter for thousands across Gauteng.

“Winning four years in a row in Joburg, twice in Ekurhuleni, and now Pretoria too — that doesn’t happen by chance,” Madurai added. “It’s about an incredible team who truly care about our listeners, and a community who’ve made HOT 102.7FM part of their lives.”

From nostalgic Old Skool & R&B hits to meaningful acts of kindness, HOT 102.7FM continues to prove that radio — when done with heart — is as powerful and personal as ever.
