There was a sparkle in the studio on Breakfast this morning — and it wasn’t just Bunny’s smile.

After being away on leave last week, Bunny returned to HOT 1027 with the kind of news that had the whole team beaming: she’s engaged.

“The first thing we did was have a look at Bunny’s left hand,” Parky shared on air, before revealing what everyone was hoping to see: “there is a huge, huge diamond rock.”

Cue the cheers, laughter, and heartfelt congratulations from the Breakfast team as Bunny officially shared her happy news with Joburg.

“Thank you very much,” she said warmly, as Simon and Parky celebrated the moment with all the excitement listeners have come to love from the show.

The proposal story quickly unfolded into the kind of heartfelt family moment that feels perfectly on brand for Bunny. Speaking about the families meeting, she laughed: “Like a house on fire.”

And of course, there was plenty of classic Breakfast banter too.

From joking about lobola negotiations and whether the payment came in pounds or rands, to Parky cheekily asking, “Now when?” in reference to the wedding date, the moment was filled with warmth, humour and genuine joy.

Bunny, keeping things real, admitted: “I don’t think this year yet… weddings are expensive things.”
