This festive season, get ready for a magical experience as The Nutcracker comes to life at Montecasino’s Teatro from 4 December 2025! 

Presented by Cape Ballet Africa and Global Star Events, this beautiful new production features 50 top South African dancers and international guest stars. With Tchaikovsky’s famous music, dazzling costumes and breathtaking choreography, it’s the perfect family outing this December. 

Audiences will be swept away by the story of a brave Nutcracker Prince, a magical Christmas Eve and the enchanting Kingdom of Sweets — including the famous “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.”

The show is directed by world-renowned choreographer Maina Gielgud, with stunning sets by Michael Mitchell, known for his work around the world. It’s a fresh and festive take on the classic ballet we all know and love.
