Plettenberg Bay may be known for its beaches and holiday homes, but this week it became the fictional home of HOT 1027 Breakfast’s latest comedy moment. Maureen Lipschitz returned with a festive rental offering so specific, so lavish and so ridiculous that the studio was left in stitches.

Calling “all the way from Lipschitz Properties in Plettenburg Bay”, Maureen wasted no time reminding Simon and the team that the holiday season is officially upon us – and that her phones, naturally, are “extremely busy”. But this was no ordinary property update. With supreme confidence and flawless comic timing, Maureen unveiled her brand-new division: Lipitz Kosher Rentals, aimed at Jewish holidaymakers who may still be undecided about their December escape.

According to Maureen, the kosher rental experience is nothing short of spectacular. Properties are conveniently located near the Beacon Isle and the freshly refurbished Plettenberg Bay Shul, and each stay comes loaded with carefully curated touches. Think separate fridges for hala ingredients, a choice of gefilte fish or salmon, imported macon in the freezer and even a bottle of Johnny Walker Black placed respectfully next to the Hanukkah menorah.

A woman in sunglasses and a beige blazer talks on her phone in front of a house with a SOLD sign, the ocean and a vintage car behind her—capturing that signature Lipschitz flair for stylish, successful living.

Then came the true Lipschitz flourish: R1,000 cash on the dining room table for tipping purposes (which is, of course, “added back onto the bill”), a personalised “welcome yarmie” stitched with your favourite football team, and a handwritten guilt-infused note from Maureen herself covering any potential damages.

If that wasn’t enough, every guest also receives a signed copy of Danny K’s “recently released” CD – which Maureen proudly confirms contains “both songs”.

The call ended with a perfectly straight-faced plug for the fictional website and an open invitation for listeners to spend the festive season in Plettenburg Bay.
