Behind the scenes of The Old & the Beautiful: The drama before the drama

HOT 1027’s groundbreaking (and ground-shaking) soap opera The Old & the Beautiful made radio history when our old skool presenters swapped their headphones for hairdryers, props, and wildly dramatic stares. Filmed in a whirlwind single day, the end result was a cheesy, twist-filled masterpiece — but what you didn’t see was even more outrageous.

Now, for the first time, we’re lifting the velvet curtain on the glorious mayhem that unfolded behind the scenes.

From confused “actors” forgetting their one line to impromptu prop-eating (because breakfast was apparently optional), this never-before-seen footage reveals the unfiltered chaos of transforming radio personalities into “budget thespians.” Witness the emotional rollercoaster of last-minute costume swaps, spontaneous ad-libbing, and a love confession from a “stable boy” who wasn’t entirely sure what he was holding.

Watch Bunny wrestle with wedding-day jitters (and blush), Parky wear shorts to his own winter wedding, and Dog… well… become his own evil twin. Plus, keep an eye out for the spicy bridesmaids plotting to upstage the bride, and the moment someone dramatically faints from sheer emotion — or possibly from a six-year-old’s discarded snack.

It’s silly. It’s shambolic. It’s glorious.

So, if you loved the melodrama of The Old & the Beautiful, you’ll adore the beautiful mess that made it possible.

🎬 Watch the behind-the-scenes video now — and see why our presenters should probably stick to radio… but we’re so glad they didn’t.
